Carmen Rosen
Artist, performer, singer, and community developer, Carmen has been active in the Vancouver arts community for over twenty-five years. She is the artistic director and founder of Still Moon Arts Society and the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival - a celebration of nature, art, community and the Asian Mid-Autumn Festival. She has a B.A. from UBC, a diploma from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and is a graduate of the Collingwood Leadership Institute. She has lead art workshops including a summer fine arts day camp, residencies with seniors and in schools, and stilt-costume creation with "at risk" youth in downtown Vancouver. She has been coordinating community celebrations in the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood since 2000. Carmen was also the founder and co-artistic director of Mortal Coil Performance Society for 10 years - creating shows, designing costumes and giant puppets, performing, and booking stilt-dance shows all over North America. As a singer, Carmen sang, recorded and toured internationally with Elektra Women's Choir for 7 years and for the past 15 years she has been singing, recording, and touring Slavic Soul music with Zeellia. Carmen's visual art installations can be seen in the stone mosaic pathways around Renfrew Ravine, and the Victory Guardian Angel in Victory Square at Christmas time.
Brad Muirhead
Bass trombonist Brad Muirhead is well known to audiences across Canada and Europe for his powerful sound and inventive improvising and has been involved in the Vancouver music scene as a performer, composer and arranger for more than 20 years. He has recorded and toured extensively with his own groups Primal Orbit and Brass Roots as well as Vancouver's three most important large jazz ensembles: the NOW Orchestra, Hugh Fraser's VEJI, and the Hard Rubber Orchestra and many other original music projects, including his latest, a quartet called "Four Head". He has also been very active as a private music teacher, clinician and music educator. Highlights of his activities as an arts administrator include The Banff Summer Jazz Workshop (Coordinator / Assistant Program Head: 1991 - 1997), The Vancouver & Victoria International Jazz Orchestra Workshops (Producer: 1995 - 2000) and most recently, The Renfrew Community Performance Project, or RCPP (Artistic Director / Conductor: 2004 -)
Yoko Tomita
She is a community art artist who has worked at Renfrew Collingwood Neighbours for last five years. She worked on 29thAvenue skytrain mural, Renfrew Ravine banners etc. Her beautiful, bright colors, cheerful style bring the happiness to the community.
